Alsey and Connor chose Brooklyn Botanic Garden for their wedding knowing they wanted a setting that could carry both scale and atmosphere.
Alsey said, “We wanted our wedding to feel like a celebration of nature immersed in an elegant garden party: lush, colorful, and effortlessly enchanting.” From the start, that intention shaped the day.
As a result, this Brooklyn Botanic Wedding brought this expansive vision from garden ceremony to candlelit reception.
Brooklyn Botanic Wedding Ceremony
Nevertheless, the ceremony took place within the garden, surrounded by layered florals and late-season greens that reflected the richness of the space.
From there, guests were pulled into the scale of the weeping willow backdrop, then into the milkweed-lined recessional. Alsey’s mom collected the milkweed over two years for this exact moment
In fact, it connected their passion for beekeeping with a deeper bond to nature. A quiet reminder that a wedding is never just about two people. It’s a tribute to the people who made you, the people who make these days mean something.
From Garden to Cocktail Hour
Following the ceremony, the evening opened into cocktail hour, where guests moved through the garden with drinks in hand. Meanwhile, a live saxophonist played along the stunning Lily Pool.
Chef Lou Piuggi curated an exquisite selection of passed hors d’oeuvres.
A Candlelit Reception for this Brooklyn Botanic Wedding
Meanwhile, as the evening set in, the reception moved into something more atmospheric. Candlelight defined the room. The combination of florals, warm light, and a full crowd created a space that felt rich without losing clarity.
Soon, the bride and groom entered to applause as the Palm House carried the garden indoors for the night.
A Wedding in Full Color
Alsey and Connor’s Brooklyn Botanic Wedding leaned into color, design, and joy. From the ceremony through the final moments of the night, everything felt fully expressed. It was expansive, vibrant, and unmistakably theirs.
