A Hildene Wedding in September in the Green Mountains

September 1, 2024

Kelsey and Aidan’s Hildene wedding was inspired by the natural, organic elements of the gardens combined with the modern elements of a wedding-as-a-black-tie-dinner-party. Kelsey knew immediately the gardens were the perfect place for her ceremony by the emotions that overcame her when she visited for the very first time. “We were looking for something awe inspiring yet somehow understated. We wanted our place in this space to be tempered by a sense of smallness too. I believe that about love, that we are, as humans, both grand and humble at the same time.”

The Wedding

On the day of the wedding, Kelsey did exactly that. She wowed the crowd in custom Monique Lhuillier while simultaneously finding her place in the Green Mountains in the backdrop. After saying their vows, guests filtered into the Formal Garden for cocktails and h’ors devours curated by Pangaea.

After cocktail hour ended, the couple shared their first dance in the courtyard, followed by a champagne toast and tower pour. Afterward, the crowd was then welcomed into Lincoln Hall for dinner and speeches. As evening settled in, the band picked up and carried the night away.

Wondering how to plan your Hildene wedding? First step is to hire an amazing planner. Kelsey and Aidan used Victoria Wagner Events and she handled everything from design to decor, to vendor relationships, budgeting and execution of the day. You can find Victoria here.

Looking for amazing dress inspiration? Kelsey shopped Kleinfeld in Manhattan for her stunningly perfect Monique Lhuillier gown. Not surprisingly, a former bridal consultant, Kelsey’s style was more than informed by current trends and styles. With her finger on the pulse she was able to curate the perfect look for her garden Vogue inspired day.
